A Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA) designates an individual or institution to act as Attorney-in-Fact (Agent) on behalf of a Principal in financial and healthcare matters, particularly in the event of incapacity. GSS Trust accepts appointment as Agent under a DPOA for individuals who want a professional and accountable fiduciary in this role, and one who they can depend on to be available and willing when needed. We serve as Agent for both Financial and Medical (aka Healthcare), meaning our DPOA services include financial management and care management. Most regulated trust companies do not have care managers on staff and therefore will not serve under a Healthcare POA, but we can.
Our care managers coordinate with your medical providers, attend doctor’s appointments with you, follow up on treatment plans, and perform regular in-person visits to ensure you are receiving good care wherever you are. We also offer limited DPOA agent services for individuals who prefer to retain control over certain aspects of their affairs.
